Mike is a Certified Public Accountant (Philippines) and an ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant. He has more than 19 years of experience in the accounting profession here and abroad.
He joined then BDO Alba Romeo & Co. (now MOORE Roxas Cruz Tagle and Co.) in 2009 as an audit manager (after his few years audit stint here and abroad) and made partner a year after. In 2015, he was unanimously elected as the Firm’s Chairman and Managing Partner at a very young age of 34 after a brief 4 years with the partnership. Since then, he is in charge of the overall management of the affairs of the partnership and was able to transform the old fledging firm into what it is today — an agile, resilient, and transformative Firm.
He is actively involved in the development of the accounting profession, serving key positions in various organizations. He is a council member of the Philippines Financial Reporting Standards Council (PFRSC), a member of the Interagency Working Group on Islamic Banking and Finance, previously a National Director of Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) representing the Public Practice Sector and a past President of the PICPA Southern Metro Manila Chapter.
He was conferred the prestigious “Young Achiever in Public Practice Award” in 2015 and the “Outstanding CPA in Public Practice Award” in 2022 by PICPA.
Mike is a graduate of San Beda College Manila (now San Beda University) where he obtained his degree in B.S. Accountancy. He finished his MBA Executive Program at the Ateneo de Manila University under Regis Executive MBA Program and a graduate of Global Partner Leadership Program (GPLP) with BDO Global.
